Personal Statement

As an IT student, my focus is currently on understanding and appreciating the world of information technology.

In my current roles I am responsible for providing quality IT support and comprehensive needs assessments for clients. To fulfill these responsibilities I use root cause problem solving to design solutions that not only solve the client's issue, but cover potential future needs.

Personal Objectives

My first priority is to achieve high grades in my IT course. My next priority is assisting my fellow students, as I believe that knowledge kept to yourself is knowledge wasted.

I hope to secure a job in Software Engineering, as the combination of my creative skills and my technical coding skills would be well suited to design and implementation.

Playing the Violin

Musical Talent

I believe that music is the universal language of our world, and I spend a great deal of my time learning that language.

I play a range of instruments, including bass guitar, acoustic and electric guitar, ukulele, drums, violin, and keyboard. My favorite instruments to play are the bass guitar, the drums, and the keyboard.

Although I'm left-handed, I play all of my instruments right-handed.

Boat on the Water

Pen and Ink Drawing

My mother is a fantastic artist, and she has passed her creative side on to me.

I find the contrast of black and white to be visually stunning, and so I draw with pen and ink.

Sometimes I incorporate other colors into my work, but I will more often than not focus on high contrast drawings and shading to communicate depth and texture.

I tend to draw landscapes, and I'm always looking for new landscapes to draw.

Me at the Tongariro Crossing

The Great Outdoors

Although I enjoy several hobbies that I would consider to be mainly indoor activities, I have invested a great deal of time into outdoor hobbies too.

I love a good hike, especially when I'm looking for new things to draw. This photo was taken on my trip to the Tongariro Crossing a few years ago.

I have a basic scuba diving license, I enjoy sea kayaking, and even if I get a little seasick I love boating.
